OK this could be a bit of a controversial post, but here goes.....

I don't know how old Frank is, but from the fact he mentions on his blog site he was finishing a Uni course I estimate under 25 years. I also assume from that he has never worked for a large corporation before (if worked in commerce at all).

It appears he was a bit naive in expecting to start work for ntl and be able to dictate not only what job he did but to also dictate how it was done. In a situation like this (i.e. another number on a large company salary sheet) you do what you are told, when you are told and you do not make decisions. You can put forward ideas but do not expect answers. Oh and you do not start grievance procedures against your boss !! One last thing..if you don't get on with your line manager, you are doomed. No question.

I'm afraid IMO Frank's position in ntl is now untenable, he has nowhere to go. He took on a particular role and that is now bolloxed and with it I very much fear will go .com also without him at the helm.

That is unless there are some very determined people in the right places who are of a mind to save it !!
