That would make sense as I've noticed a lot of ads on TV for unlimited providers at the lower speeds lately (especially Tiscali), so this would keep NTL competitive with them at the lower speeds.
I think I'd prefer to stay on 2mb with no cap, as it seems fast enough to me, plus a lot of people seem to be having erratic service since the 10mb upgrade, where my 2mb is very reliable.
I hope they give you the option to stay as you are when they come to roll the upgrade out nationwide, and don't just upgrade you to 10mb capped automatically.
