exactly - I'm signed up with two "free" newsgroup providers, one based in the US required credit card authentication of my age, the other based in Europe, didn't. The article, if I read it right, was about the potential repeal of of the requirement for the credit card check in the US, as it is unconstitutional?
Some of the stuff "available" on news servers is really disgusting - I don't like it, let alone how it would affect a child. That isn't a vote for censorship, just we all have to be aware it is "out there".
Your comment regarding politicians & the web was spot on - no-one has even mentioned p2p or irc - b****r someone has.
