Blueyonder Newsgroups are very fast as well. I get my full 1.2Mb/s and sometimes bursts up to 1.7mb/s  <---- (a few seconds) Damn downloading at 1.2mb/s and playing Call Of Duty online (MonkeyLuvver <-- GameName) with a ping of 50 - 70 is great and it's the way it should be

So your area is congesting as evidenced by the pings rising at night
BTW No way on God's green earth that you can download at 1.2MB/s and play online at the same time

That's as high as an upstream can go, it's impossible for them to go any higher due to overheads
