Don't think you need the whole linksys networking kit. The lappy looks like it is wireless enabled with the adaptor already in the hardware. Thus you just need the router, not the PCMIA card.

As for printer, what type does she have. In particular what connections are on it - any network port, or is it just USB, parrallel port? Once you know that you can determine how or if it can be connected to a network / router without direct connection to a PC.
