I have the correct input selected as "front s-video" on the AV control. I think that maybe I need to try the Xbox & lead on another TV before I go back to Currys complaining about it.

go buy the Advanced SCART cable. It's RGB, and makes a huge difference. I have constantly been surprised by how much better RGB is than S-video. Just be sure to plug it into the correct port on ur TV, only one of your SCARTS will support RGB. Further, you will need to switch on RGB in the video settings on ur XBox Dashboard. When you've done all that, and you select your AV channel, the one you want to look for is RGB, rather than AV1/AV2/S-video/etc..

S-video is good. I used to always use it. RGB is better.
