Take it she has a cable router as well as a wifi card, integrated or otherwise, on each PC?

The only difference in networking terms between DSL and Cable is that Cable modems are locked to the network, DSL ones aren't - which shouldn't be a problem so long as the DSL modem isn't USB. Which it tends to be In essence, there is no difference between a wireless card for a PC or LT whether or not it connects via a router to cable, or a router to DSL.

Either she's misinterpreted the salesman or been ripped off, but she should be able to get a refund if it's not needed- but let's ascertain exactly what she DOES have and work out what's needed first.
