However, IIRC, patrickp is right. The Samsung does have an 100 Meg port, but NTL locked all the ports on the STBs to 10 Meg.

the '100 meg' light is for the LAN side, though, Stu - however, as you say, if the STB is locked down to 10 Meg it doesn't matter how fast the router tries to talk to it, that will be the bottleneck
