You may be able to see what service you are on by going here http://192.168.100.1/ & clicking on "operation configuration". The downstream & upstream data rates will let you know what speed you are on.

Has your download speed always been slow since getting ntl broadband? If so, it could be due to windows RWIN value being set too low. If it is, the link in Ignition's post will sort it out.

its not always been slow no, just the past month or so.

oh also, on that tweak website, what speed should i say my connection is? should i say its 2mb or what seems to be 10mb?

right, tried the rwin thing after using that tweak site saying im 2mb and it seems to have worked, thanks. so im getting like 230kb/s now. question is, should i be getting higher speeds as its quoting me as having a 10mb line? should i get rwin settings for 10mn and try them?
