Re: Odd behaviour/Droppiong connection

Hello all,

This is the first post to the forum so big hello from me.

I'm in Cardiff using a 4 to 5 yr old Terayon Modem and for the last two months I'm being cut off at the flick of a switch. I'm on the 2Mb which is more than adequate but thought I'd check on these forums before crying to ntl.

I've suspected the Modem for a while as when the connection drops I can still share files between the computer.
The router is connecting Ethernet at 100Mbs and high security settings with NAT and ping blocking.
All computers running ZA as firewall and AVG antivirus.
Using SpywareBlaster, Spybot S&D and HijackThis as security against spyware though have just included a rookit checker.

I wasn't aware that >2Mb connections were available and would this new facility be indirectly responsible for these interruptions, I'm not blaming anyone, even ntl. Over subscribing does occur, even if it is unintentional.
