I'm surprised at this as this modem only has a 10mbit half duplex ethernet port, however the very similar looking modem, the SB4100 has a full duplex thus allowing for max speed without any issues.
I wouldn't expect more than 5-6mbits with the SB3100 and in my experience i couldn't browse at all while downloading a large file at that speed.
But if yours works the way you say it does then good for you, until the next speed increase
