What happens if I get Broadband through a set-top box?
Download speeds are dependent upon equipment capability. Currently the set-top box is capable of supporting speeds up to 5Mb, so that is the maximum speed you would receive after an upgrade to the new 10Mb service.
Err...no. That's not correct is it?
I know people who are still using the Pace box for their broadband, which are only capable of 1Meg. Now the swap from Pace to Samsung was free, so would Pace owners still be expected to pay the £50 charge for a modem?
I see from this page, that ntl are trying to put you off of upgrading to a new modem!

"In general we would not recommend an upgrade unless you are sure that you need these very high speeds, and that your PC is optimised to make use of 10Mb."
They then go on to list a load of reasons as to why you may not get the full 10 Megs anyway. They seem to want the best of both worlds.
