Re: *ALL* ntl Cap Discussion (Part 3)
Dont know how true this is but a mate spoke to an NTL engineer who was having a drink in the pub and he says NTL plan to introduce varable billing.
example:
1Mb connection -> 3gb - 30gb
2Mb connection -> 31gb - 75gb
10Mb connection -> 75gb - 150gb
if your usage is anywhere between the 3 - 30Gb a month then you get charged the 1Mb tarrif, go over that you automatically get charged the next higher tarrif, so even if you have signed up for a 1mb connection and you use 40Gb in a month then you get billed the 2mb connection, use 75gb+ a month then you get billed the 10Mb tarrif ie: you pay for what you use, they will provide a monitoring software to every user, and a online server package that will alert you as you approach the new limits, it will pop up an acceptance ticket that you are aware that you will be billed a higher tarrif once you go over the set usage limits.
New unlimited tarrifs will be introduced for users that breach the 150gb a month on a regular basis.
If this is true then personally I wouldnt have any problems using it, saves ****ing about upgrading downgrading as the need arises and I only pay for what I actually use.
It could have its advantages for users that subscribe to the higher tarrifs but dont use it that much during some months, means they actually receive a lower bill, reflected by their usage.
this would probably explain how 1 and 2 Mb users also get upgraded to the 10Mb service later next year?
