Well, it would seem, after reading this thread
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=38424 that my 3 year old netgear RP614 only has a 10mb half duplex WAN port, hence the degraded speed when going through it. Looks like Santa's going to have to get me a new full duplex one.
