Re: wireless ntl broadband wont connectto laptop

quite the wireless prob tonight he he

ok

let me get this straight, ur with NTL, do u connect thru ur Set Top Box, STB or a Stand Alone CAble Modem,

the connections should run like this - cable connection into the SACB for example, ethernet connection from that to the WAN port on the Netgear router. The wireless? lan card should slot in to the laptop. From dead, turn on the modem only until lights settle, then the router and then the laptop.

What OS are u using? XP has a built in wireless facility and will automatically pick up the connection to the router. Remember to tuen off the Firewall in XP as the router will now act as the firewall.

for the likes of windoze 98 and perhaps 2000/ME, use the configuration utility for the lan card to 'see' the router and connect to it.

more info helps us all
SACB?
