Speed may not be related to your modem. I have a ntl 200 modem which is perfectly capable of delivering 10mb. I can't get above 5mb either. I think it's because my area (Stafford) hasn't had the "network optimizations" yet. Planned for tomorrow from what i can see. Could also be your router if you use one.
