Optimising settings for a 10 Meg Connection.

Now that I have a 10 meg connection working on a NTL 120 modem, can someone advise if there are any setting that need to be tweaked to optimise performance for downloading / browsing?

I using internet Explorer on an XP machine. (Happy to swap to Firefox v1.5 if this is better for performance).
