I have exactly the same problem, on a surfboard 3100. I don't believe it is due to more traffic, as it was working perfectly at 3Mb before and happened the instant after I was upgraded.
I've tried tech support who just got me to try a load of things (I know it's not my PC, IT support myself, but I humored them and did all they asked). I know the problem, it's the modem, but I can't get them to change it. Fed up of calling, going through the same stuff. I'm now waiting until the middle of December when it goes 'live' and try again, if NTL don't contact me first about my modem (yeah right!
).
