I think i have found the problem,
I was running a bittorrent client and i just checked and it was running quite high on the download, which is good!
However it is obviously effecting my speed, i have moved from AOL where i was able to simultaniously download two things at 100k or so at the same time, on a 1MB connection.
Is this not so with NTL?
BTW the bitorrent client has been set to max 5 kb/s on the upload
