what do the lights on the modem show when plugged in via ethernet? on/off/flashing ??
Followed the procedure and it did not work. The power light is on ethernet is flashing slightly Receive is flashing. syn is on and ready is on.

Any ideas?
hmm, the lights on the modem seem to indicate that the modem has locked on to a connection, which suggests that the problem is with the settings for the NIC - or that there is a fault with the NIC or the lead??

It may be worth checking through the relevant bits in

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.../basicset.html

just to try & see if it is possibly a software/setup issue, otherwise I would have to suggest trying another lead, or even a different NIC???
