Look under Tools/ Options/ Spelling & Grammar and click on Dictionaries, then hit Edit (it will warn you that it's about to turn off spell checking)
Have a look in there and see if you've accidentally told it to accept "realize" as a valid spelling by hitting "add" by mistake when you were spell checking.

I have asked the IT bod at work to look at this because no matter what I do whenever I log in to outlook at work it defauts to the US dictionary
Will let you know if I get a result.
