I have been doing some reading from the site Homealone posted and have tried a few things.

Using my mates modem (that has never worked)
I get

IP: 86.5.148.249
Sub Net 255.255.255.0
gateway 86.5.148.254

now according to that site it says in the ranges xxx.xxx.xxx.248 - xxx.xxx.xxx.253 (NTL temporary pre-registration service).

And that's correct - I have yet to register any computer with the new modem.

But then I try https://autoreg.autoregister.net/start.html but nothing happens.

So whats going on? Modem faulty? I have tried several computers with this modem!
