Angry NTL Mis-selling.

Hi....

I've just changed from Sky having been with them since the first analogue test transmissions. My reciever was playing up and rather than buy another one I decided to change to NTL and take advantage of the discount that I would get already having phone and broadband with NTL.

I spoke at great length with the sales dept and was sold on the idea of the VOD system which I was explained to me in great detail. I was advised to read more info on the "TV as it was meant to be" on the ntl web site which I did with great care. I followed all the links which extolled the virtues of this system including the postcode check which gave me the good news "congratulations you are in an on demand enabled area".

BUT I'M NOT.......

When the rubbish box was installed and I couldn't see any reference to the VOD system the engineer said not to worry as the software will take some time to completely load.

BUT I'M STILL NOT.......
2 weeks on and I now find that LE4, despite being told after much complaing and ringing different departments that all users ould be 'enabled' by Christmas, now I find that LE4 'should' be running during the first 3 months of 2006.

When I cancelled my Sky subscription I was offered a plethora of inducements to stay with them including a free Sky + box and 6 months free subscription plus multiroom conections free. In addition £10 per month off my current subscription for 2 years. I SAID NO THANK YOU.

When I complained to NTL customer service no-one would accept the mis-selling idea, as no-one would accept responsibility for the info on the web site. All I was asked by one very rude customer services rep was " I don't want to listen to you any more do you want us to take the system out". After a further short exchange of views this man hung up the phone.

Can I ask any other users to who are not VOD enabled to follow the web page links to the "tv as it was meant to be "
claims fill in their postcode and see if they too are "congratulated cos you've got it".

I am not a happy chappie at the moment and am looking for any other evidence of mis-selling, mis-representation etc. to take this lot to the cleaners.
