Here's a bunch of email notifiers I found for myself a little while ago, handyman:

http://www.start7way.com/
http://www.adera.be/en/products/pop3easy.cfm
http://ant4mailchecking.cjb.net/
http://www.bettasoft.net/mailalert/index.html
http://www.andreamarangoni.it/newcheckp3/index.htm
http://www.cosydat.de/freeshare/eng/emailchecker.htm
http://www.ezchecker.ro/
http://www.aha.ru/~exchange/GIMCheck/
http://wonko.com/ham/
http://www.rekenwonder.com/mailchk.htm
http://www.mailutilities.com/mv/
http://www.poppeeper.com/
http://www.yoursurfice.com/Content/Poppy/Poppy.htm
http://poptray.crause.co.za/
http://www.webmasterfree.com/mailtap.html

But you'll have to check them out for yourself. They were all valid URLs for email checkers of one kind or another when I collected them, but that was a year or so back, I think.

Edit: they all appear still to be valid URLs for email checkers except the poptray one - http://poptray.crause.co.za/ - try https://sourceforge.net/projects/poptray instead.

Further edit: I have to agree with Paul M and atlantis - you were a little harsh there, handyman.
