You can get breakdown insurance for sky boxes I believe, and at the end of the day, how many actually fail, it's no different to any other electrical entertainment item you buy (tv/dvd/cd/tivo/whatever). Ntl used to charge <£10 which was reasonable. I'm getting a bit fed up of the current rip-off price
(and to top it off, some of my channels have started to intermittantly fail again).
