Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase

Well I can confirm now that I have been testing the new speeds for the past week, giving feedback on speeds, and any other issues, and have constantly been downloading at 8mb speeds, email copied below, link to the speed result page, and my feedback page removed:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for volunteering to take part in our Quality of Service Survey.
You'll be pleased to know that you have been accepted to take part.

In order to provide feedback you should click on the link below.
http://www.esmaker.com/nx/Public/SurveyNX.aspx? ( link edited)Please save this link to your favourites.
No password is required for this link however you should enter your name each time you use the form so that we include you in the prize draw for the 512Mb MP3 player.

Each time you log on to the internet (specifically in the evening) over the next 7 days (17 -23 October) we would be grateful if you could open this page and use it to log any issues you experience with your ntl Internet services.

Please note that we have no specific tests for you to run during this period. We merely wish to track your personal experience and opinion of our service when being used as normal. The good news is that we will be applying a significant increase to the speed of your Broadband service early this week and this will be noticeable. Please note there is an additional comments field so please let us know what you think.

You can also log issues as soon as they occur and click submit so that we can compare the time when you submit this with ntl information.

Alternatively, you can take a note of what time any issues occurred and let us know .

If you have no issues during your internet session then please tick the "NO ISSUES" box before you log off.

Thanks again for taking part.

regards

As part of our survey we'd like some of our triallists to run some speed tests throughout the course of the week and let us know what speed of service you see on your broadband.

The websites below are UK based and therefore will provide a gauge of the speed you are achieving throughout the week.
Please use all of them at least twice in the week so that we can see what happens.
It might also be interesting to try these when the internet is at it's quietest and busiest times (morning and evening) if you get a chance so that you can see what difference internet traffic makes to user experience.
Feel free to use them as often as you wish and let me know the result at the end of the week (or by return e-mail if you prefer).

I'll send a table for feedback in a separate e-mail which you may wish to use as a way of sending the data as a single report.

Please note that none of the speed tests are perfect and that they are not always available (which is why I've suggested using three)
There are a variety of factors that can affect the result, but these sites are useful as a tool to see what happens on your broadband service
I can post speed test results if needed, and yes I'm in the Herts area, which comes under Luton. I've been very happy so far, I just hope they dont take it away now the trial has ended
