just dont use Mcaffee my previous experiences with it was that it let some nasty virusses go through my system and I had to rebuild it again that was the last time I ever use that again

I agre with levig about McAfee - it's another resource hog. It also tends to produce similar email problems to those that Norton does: I simply couldn't send emails with attachments from the machine I had it on a couple of years back. One thing in its favour as against Norton: at least it uninstalls easily.

Actually, Zone Alarm with Antivirus (as opposed to Zone Alarm Security Suite) is very cheap: about £20 to buy (online) and about £13.50 a year to renew. The antivirus component comes from Computer Associates and generally seems very highly thought of. It's very non-demanding in terms of computer resources: slows things down a bit (not a lot) when you're running a scan, but in normal use I don't even bother deactivating it for games - just doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.
