I use wordpress as well (in sig) it is very very good. The other good thing is that you can import old blogger posts into it if you did in fact start off with blogger and your blog took off, something that you could not do here...unless it was done manually.
Th eother negative I would think is that bloglines and such like would not pick it up so you are potentially losing a lot of visitors!
