Thanks for your response. I've got an Acer 234 L Travelmate laptop with SP1 and a wired cat5(RJ45) cable connection about 5 meters in length going into the netgear DS108 router which has got 8 ports on it with only 3 users on it (including myself).

I've rebooted the modem and the router supplies internet connection the other 2 users without hassle, its just ma pc. I donno if my firewall is blocking the ports or affecting my dhcp server?

Any good?
