Re: [Update] NTL to buy Telewest
The same time the merger was announced it seems that ntl have gone out of the way to promote virgin bb as opposed to ntl freedom -

Great news! Weâ₠¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ve done a deal with our friends at Virgin.net who can offer you broadband from £14.99 a month with no 12 month contract. However, if you would like to sign up for ntl Freedom Broadband please click here.
The 'not in a cabled area?' link's page on ntl.com has also changed -

ntl do not offer services outside its cable network.
However, we recommend Virgin.net who offer a range of Internet
options including broadband with no 12 month contract.
All you need is a BT line.
Huh? Say what? I thought ntl wholly own virgin.net! Maybe part of some new plan separating opinion from ntl or separating virgin running over BT's network as opposed to ntl freedom being a new LLU expansion?
