Do this in this order, Disc clean up making sure restore points are cleaned. Run spyware removal software ie adaware spybot micro$oft blar blar ,then run AV
EDIT Missed this goto start run type msconfig look at start up and remove anything that does not need to start (ty Rob i forgot this lot)
