Yay another person that does not understand networking.

ok 3mbit = 3000 bits.

8 bits make a byte so 3000/8 = 375kb/s

Now thats the speed its capable if it was possible to simply pipe data in. Its not that simple because the 2 computers have to have a conversation about the data transmission in order for it to happen. Its this overhead data that drops your connection down in speed so 330kb/s is your connection operating at damn near perfect. Thats not even factoring in things at that end. I have a 288k upload (ADSL) which allows me to upload in theory 32kb/s but in practice its 29 kb/s now thats divided up between the amount of people i send the files to so 2 people would get 14kb's each and so on.

You could expect around 1040-1050 kb/s I reckon on a 10mb connection and thats with perfect conditions

I'd also like to add that I may be slightly out on the calculations but they are approximatly right. You certainly cannot get 380kb/s on a 3mb connection.
