Both my freeview boxes (Goodmans GD3 & Sagem TD58) can hold the 7 day epg, can switch channels, neither suffer from loss of synch concerning sound and the picture quality is (i'll say it again) rock steady. If you equate pace stb's and freeview ones, then (imo) there is reason to call modern freeview boxes rock steady.

we have an old on digital phillips box in our office still works fine havent had it crash or gone through the old rebooting because i cant change do anything with it once in the 6-7 years i have had it if it wasnt for sky one and living TV (for my wife i might add) i wouldnt bother with cable
