Your USB ntl cable modem also has the capabilty to be an ethernet cable modem.

I would suggest you buy a wireless broadband router and if your PC does not have an ethernet card, an ethernet card for your PC

Turn everything off, plug the NTL CM into the router, power up the ntl box, wait, power up the router.

Install, or connect a wire from your pc to the router, and her pc should find the wireless connection.

I use a linksys wrt54g and have had few problems, hence recommend it, there is a thread on the site recommending alternates.
