Re: NTL blocked emails from France?

To m y astonishment Wanadoo.fr have actually, after months of complaints, replied as follows:
"nous vous invitons ÃÃâ€*’ configurer de votre client de messagerie avec les paramÃÃâ€*’¨tre s suivants:

Serveur de courrier sortant: smtp-msa.wanadoo.fr
Port de connexion au serveur sortant: 587
Authentification activÃÃâ€*’©e"

which being translated, reads:

We invite you to configure your e-mail client as follows:

Outgoing mail server: smtp-msa.wanadoo.fr
Connection Port for outgoing server: 587
Authentication: activated

This appears to work! I have actuallymanaged to correspond with someone with an ntlworld address over the last couple of days, with nary a bounce.

But being a cynic, I guess Sorbs will rumble this one, sooner or later, or ntlworld will invent some new filter to isolate their clients from the outside world . . . . and some of my messages to ntlworld addresses still seem to simply disappear into limbo, no bounce, no nothing . . . . maybe these of my friends with ntlworld addresses have dropped off . . . !

Cheers
