My brother in law answers the phone, and they say they want to speak to whoever (Mr or Mrs) and he says "oh, I'll get them for you" and puts the cordless phone down on the side of the sofa and carries on watching telly only stopping to pick the phone up after 10mins to see if they're still waiting
Most of the time, they know how annoying cold-calls are so they wont give out any more information than they have to (i.e. company name etc). I would imagine they have been told NOT to give out the company address and if asked, they got the persons number from a local database (thats what they ALL say).
