Re: Connection wiring Setup

I have an identical setup, except that I haven't got an AV control centre upstairs.

The way I do it is this:

NTL TV Scart Out -> TV Scart In (for RGB pictures from cable)
TV second Scart -> VCR (TV sends picture through scart lead to VCR; VCR sends picture back to TV when playing a video)
DVD Player -> NTL Box "VCR" Scart socket (when playing a DVD, this passes through the cable box to the TV, so I get an RGB picture)

If you then take the RF output of the VCR for your wireless sender, you *should* be able to watch cable TV, videos and unprotected DVDs byu chaning the VCR to the correct Scart input channel. However, you probably won't be able to watch Macrovision-protected DVDs, as the VCR will mash up the signal -- this is quite possibly what you're witnessing now. The solution is either to get a highly illegal Macrovision-cancelling Scart lead, or to use an RF-out socket on your DVD player (if there is one) to the TV, which would hopefully send a de-Macrovisioned picture through the Scart to the VCR, and thus upstairs.

That all sounds bloody complicated, doesn't it!
