Don't know about customer numbers though.

One also has to look at the details.

Take optusnet from Australia, for example: the rate card quotes AUS$75 (GBP 32) for "unlimited", and AUS$95 (GBP 40) for "unlimited pro".

But AFAICT speed-limiting to 64K kicks in after 12 GB on the "unlimited", and after 20 GB on the "pro" service.

Even compared with the existing ntl services, that's pants.
