Any help much appreciated.

The connection properties in her web browser will need to be changed, so that it is set to connect directly to the internet, & not try & connect via dial-up.

See attachments for Internet Explorer & Firefox.

The WiFi card in her laptop will need to be enabled, if it isn't already.

The TCP/IP settings for the WiFi card will need to use DHCP, & be set to Obtain an IP Address Automatically & Obtain DNS Server Addresses Automatically.

The wireless connection will need to be told the wireless router's SSID, or you can scan for it & connect to it (if the SSID is broadcast).

The laptop WiFi will be connecting to an "access point (infrastructure)" network (i.e. the wireless router), rather than a "computer to computer (adhoc)" network.

If the wireless router has security set up on it (& it should do! see this: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/article.php?a=12), then you'll need to set it up on the laptop so it can connect to the router.
