I spy with my little eye!
Whilst browsing England in Google Earth at the w/e I spotted a detailed area around Swindon. Zooming in I found an airbase and even further I found a suspicious looking plane parked on the tarmac. (Bookmark attached)
Some googling and map reading later confirmed that I have 'probably' found a U2 spy plane sitting on the tarmac at RAF Fairford! Why is a U2 on an RAF base ? Turns out the
Air Tattoo was held at Fairford on 16/17 July and the list of static exhibts includes a U2S. Not sure why it is there after the event (can't see anyother exhibits still there) but still a curious find - a satelite finding a spy plane
