Wholeheartedly agree. From books 3 to 6, the plot line gets very mature and sinister too.

The best way to do it, is to watch the first two movies to save reading the books, and then start on book 3 which is when it starts to get really interesting. Although, the movies may gloss over something in the book that might make something unclear in the latter books...
