Right i did that and it actually worked.! BUT, i installed a couple of other things and off it went again....Boxes all greyed out when earlier the had c-media as playback option.....this is very weird

I'm thinking dry joint but i formatted before intsalling xp and that should be plenty of time for board expansion.......i mean that must have been 45 mins for the whole process....

Anyway,,tired and confused now.
