As long as your system is running AV, anti-spyware/ trojan software etc you should be fine. I'd make a point of asking him to run a spyware and virus sweep of his system if he wants to use your connection
If NTL sees any major virus activity on certain ports they can lock you out of your connection till it's cleaned.
