mad thing is a load of pcs out there shop bought (either desktops or laptops) come with no recovery pack at all,6 months later you call say pc is fubared and they say that'll be £50. Least there was one for the laptop in the begining.How bads the disc? could you try to chip away at it with something like clone cd see what comes off it?
