Many HP printers don't work too well on a HP JetDirect I guess within HP the two departments are separate. Perhaps with snipers and water between them and nothing but smoke signals to communicate design intentions. JetDirects also have a habit of deciding that a printer is a Centronics printer. They're a real nuisance.
