I'm having similar problems as many have mentioned but I think my problems are definitely down to the heat.
I have a new Silver Samsung STB which was very warm each time that my internet would crash. I have now got a 120mm pc fan blowing on it so its nice and cold again and the internet has settled down.
So if anyone else has got a STB try cooling it down with a fan first - it will only be a few days and the lovely UK weather will be back to normal
