the whole league thing is just designed to give the clubs extra games which equals extra tv money and gate receipts and is geared to mean the top clubs from Italy, Spain, UK, Germany get through.. in the event that this doesn't happen they will get third and then go into the UEFA Cup..
it should just be winners of the league and the holders and have done with it

And I completely agree with that last line.
Bring back the CWC, winners of the cups can go in that (LDV Vans as well, pretty please
), 2nd-5th can go in UEFA cup... get rid of the league ******** and return it to knockout, totally unseeded, etc etc.
When we won our first we were drawn against (holders) Liverpool in the first round - a tie pitting the top 2 in England together - and no-one even gave us a chance.
