Granted, there are troublesome youths out there, but there have always been. I I do not disagree that there are pensioners afraid to leave their homes. However, in real terms, is this fear really justified? Or is it actually due to the fact that the tabloids have blown the situation out of all proportion in an attempt to sell newspapers with sensationalised stories?
Of course, you can`t adopt the "do-gooder" line as this would undermine the constant flow of rhetoric, and so the cycle continues. And frankly, why would you want to when you have such an easy option as tagging available?
No need to address the root causes if you can do something that gives the appearance of tackling any problems that may genuinely exist.
