oddly enough, i can get over 12k on my housemates old one (no led's), but not even to 11k on mine (neon blue)

thats gonna be a big cleaning job if you want it to work well again!
although it might get a tad better if you leave it in an airing cupboard for a few days, or somewhere else warm enough to dry out the lubricant...
