I'd say the error isn't with FS2004, otherwise millions of other people (including myself) would be reporting it and I've not seen it before. Don't forget, choppers are a complete b@stard to handle as you don't actually have a proper collective to use etc.
But like I said, you need the realism setting cranked right up (and you need to learn how to use the autopilot for long flights
read the manual or go through the video tutorials)
